A snorkel and island-hopping day through the An Thoi islands — clear water, a try-dive available for the curious. Evening: board the sleeper bus north toward the highlands.
A short connection through Hanoi, then continue by road/night transfer into the highlands. By the time you arrive, the air has changed completely — cool, thin, and quiet.
Settle into Sa Pa and walk Cat Cat Village — a H'mong hillside settlement with waterfalls and rice terrace views. Moana View for sunset over the valley.
Cable car to Fansipan's summit at 3,143m — the highest peak in Indochina, reached without a single step of the climb. Then the alpine coaster, one of the most fun things you'll do in Southeast Asia.
